Outsourcing On Their Minds? Obama, Romney Spar Over Issue

It's outsourcing, stupid? A pro-Romney super PAC's allegation that the president has been sending money to foreign companies sets off a war of words as Team Obama hits the presumptive GOP presidential nominee hard over alleged export of jobs overseas as CEO and Massachusetts governor. Is outsourcing the new "it" issue?

The 2012 presidential campaign recently heated up over outsourcing with the president's camp coming after Mitt Romney over the issue in a recent ad.

"As a corporate CEO, he shipped American jobs to places like Mexico and China," the recent Obama ad airing in key swing states claims of Romney. "As governor, he outsourced state jobs to a call center in India. He's still pushing tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas."

By the end, it's harping on former Mass. governor's personal wealth with the crack: "it's just what you expect from a guy who had a Swiss bank account."

Of course, Romney's folks had something to say about that, painting it as a pathetic attempt to distract the American public's attention, according to a USA Today report.

"With the worst job creation record in modern history and the slowest economic recovery since the Great Depression, President Obama is trying to distract Americans from the real issues with a series of sideshows," said Romney spokesperson Amanda Henneberg in a statement to USA Today.
